Message flow (how end users opt in)

All consent is collected on our own website at https://k9dronerecovery.com/auth (account signup) and in account settings. The exact flow is:

A user visits https://k9dronerecovery.com and chooses “Request Recovery” or “Join as Specialist”, which opens the signup form at https://k9dronerecovery.com/auth.
The signup form collects first name, last name, mobile phone number, email, and password.
Directly beneath the phone number field there is an unchecked checkbox the user must tick to opt in. Its label reads verbatim:I agree to receive automated SMS text messages from K9 & Drone Recovery about my recovery requests, dispatch offers, and job status updates at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

The checkbox state and timestamp are stored with the user record. Users who do not tick the box receive no SMS. Users can turn SMS off at any time in account settings, via the unsubscribe link, or by replying STOP.
